O presente artigo tem por escopo a analisar as consequências da morosidade no campo internacional, através das condenações proferidas no contexto da jurisprudência do sistema interamericano de proteção aos direitos humanos, em casos nos quais a demora da justiça foi determinante para o perecimento do direito de cidadãos que tentaram, em vão, se socorrer do judiciário. Examina-se, ainda o acesso à justiça e os óbices que impedem sua consecução no Brasil, avaliando a problemática da morosidade processual e as principais razões que concorrem para o prolongamento temporal da tramitação dos processos na justiça brasileira.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the consequences of the slowness in the international field, through the condemnations made in the context of the jurisprudence of the inter-American human rights protection system, in cases in which the delay of justice was decisive for the perishing of citizens' rights. who tried unsuccessfully to bail out the judiciary. It also examines the access to justice and the obstacles that hinder its achievement in Brazil, evaluating the problematic of procedural delays and the main reasons that contribute to the temporal prolongation of the proceedings in the Brazilian justice.
