MÍDIA, OPINIÃO PÚBLICA E A ESPETACULARIZAÇÃO DA TRAGÉDIA: HÁ LIMITES PARA O “SHOW BUSSINESS” CRIMINOLÓGICO?

O presente trabalho pretende refletir sobre os limites da liberdade de expressão, especificamente no campo midiático em relação ao discurso de (in)segurança pública propagado pelos meios de comunicação, destacando a dualidade existente entre o dever de informar e o “show bussiness” criado a partir de matérias policiais. Ademais, a pesquisa visa ressaltar a importância da mídia e dos órgãos de segurança pública na construção da cultura de direitos humanos e paz, em contraposição à tendência de banalização da violência e criação de “heróis do povo”, a partir da falência das instituições estatais e da sensação de impunidade no imaginário popular.

This paper aims to reflect on the limits of freedom of expression, specifically in the field of the media in relation to the public security discourse propagated in telecomunication, highlighting the duality between the duty to inform and the show bussiness created from police newspapers . In addition, the research seeks to highlight the importance of the media and public security organs in building a culture of human rights and peace, as opposed to a tendency to trivialize violence and to create "heroes of the people," since the bankruptcy of institutions and the sense of impunity in the popular imagination.
