Desmistificando os temores em relação à adoção homoafetiva

O presente trabalho tem como tema a adoção homoafetiva no Brasil, discutindo a resistência por parte de certos setores da sociedade civil em garantir o direito de adoção por casais homoafetivos. Para tanto, optamos por apresentar os projetos de leis propostos pelo legislativo, com atenção especial às justificativas e argumentos que os fundamentam. Por fim, tratamos de submetê-los à luz dos estudos científicos mais recentes sobre o tema. A consequência desse embate, como concluímos, é a desmistificação dos temores em relação à adoção homoafetiva, os quais, defendemos, estão fundados em mero preconceito.

Demystifying Fears Regarding Homoaffective Adoption

This study subject is the homosexual adoption in Brazil, discussing the resistance by certain sectors of civil society to guarantee the right of adoption by homosexual couples. Therefore, we chose to present the projects of laws proposed by the legislature, with special attention to the justifications and arguments that support them. Finally, we try to submit them in the light of recent scientific studies on the subject. The result of this clash, as we conclude, is the demystification of the fears regarding the homosexual adoption, which, we argue, are founded on mere prejudice.
